Career Overhaul Suite

Career Overhaul Suite is a deep career rework for The Sims 4 that makes jobs feel less automatic and more like something your Sim actually has to build toward.

Instead of easy promotions with simple skill checks, this mod adds tougher requirements, adjusted salaries, new goals, and more meaningful career progress. Early career levels pay less, but higher levels can become more rewarding once your Sim puts in the work.

The mod was last updated on May 15, 2026, with a fix for the Generate Coworkers addon so it can spawn new Sims again when Home Regions is installed.

Careers Feel More Earned Now

This mod changes how many careers work from the inside. Your Sim may need more skills, degrees, fame, friends, or other career-related goals before moving up.

For example, doctors need stronger education, business careers bring back friend requirements, entertainers get more flexible performance skill options, and some careers use pack-based skills when those packs are installed.

Pay is also rebalanced. Low-level jobs are not as generous anymore, while top career levels can pay more than before. This makes the first part of a career slower, but the final reward feels stronger.

There are also smaller gameplay touches, like fame-based pay bonuses for careers where popularity matters, reputation loss for criminal-style jobs, coworker changes, and food goodie bags for some culinary careers.

Optional Addons

Career Overhaul Suite includes optional files, so you do not have to use every part of the mod.

You can add features like:

• Extra career goal files
• Pack-based requirements

The creator also notes that most basic features only need the Base Game, but some promotion goals use content from packs like Get Famous, Discover University, Get To Work, Get Together, Eco Lifestyle, Outdoor Retreat, Spa Day, and Parenthood. If you do not own some packs, you may need to remove related files from the Pack Content folder.

This is not a tiny tuning mod. It changes promotion requirements and career balance, so it can conflict with other mods that edit the same systems.
