Grannies Cookbook Mod

Grannies Cookbook Mod brings a warmer, more homely feeling to cooking in The Sims 4. Instead of using only the regular recipe menu, your Sim can place a cute old-style cookbook in the kitchen and use it to prepare custom food recipes.

This mod works like a food recipe enabler, so it is important to understand one thing first: the cookbook itself and the recipes are not the same download. You need the newest cookbook file, the required helper mod, and then the food recipes you want to use.

A Cozy Way to Add More Food

The main idea is simple. Your Sim gets access to "Grannies Old Cookbook", which can be found in the small appliances section. Place it somewhere on the lot, click it, and use the pie menu to start cooking.

The cookbook can also be renamed or gifted, which makes it feel more personal. It is a small detail, but it fits really well if you like family homes, legacy saves, cottage kitchens, or cozy gameplay.

The May 13, 2026 update adds compatibility for:

• Caterpillar Sandwiches
• Honeycomb Tarts
• Ladybug Cupcakes

So if you use the newer food recipes from this creator, make sure your cookbook file is updated too.

Before You Add It

Recipes may not appear for every Sim right away. Some recipes need a certain cooking skill level, so they will show only when your Sim is ready for them.

Also, do not keep old versions in your Mods folder. If the cookbook, helper mod, or recipe file is outdated, it can cause missing recipes or errors. The safest option is to delete the older file first, then add the newest one.
