Childcare Overhaul Mod makes taking care of little Sims feel less automatic and more hands-on. Instead of simple care interactions with no extra thought, your household now needs proper baby care items for newborns, infants, and toddlers.

Diapers, wipes, baby wash, diaper cream, and moisturizers become part of the routine. It gives family gameplay a stronger everyday feeling, especially if you enjoy slower saves where parenting is not just clicking the same basic options.

What Changes in Daily Care?

The mod reorganizes care interactions for newborns and toddlers, making their menus cleaner and easier to follow. Toddler care also uses required items, similar to the infant care system.

One important detail: for bathing infants or toddlers, you need to click on the Sim, not the bathtub. If you click the tub instead, the item may be used without the bath working as expected.

Needed objects can be bought through express delivery, the Target shell building, or Build/Buy. This makes the mod feel more like a small parenting system, not just a menu replacement.

Childcare Overhaul is best for players who want more realistic family saves and do not mind extra steps when caring for young Sims. The creator also notes that this mod is not ideal for players who rely heavily on nannies.
