Private Practice Mod

In the base game, a sick Sim usually drinks medicine and returns to normal. Private Practice turns this short event into a proper healthcare system with appointments, examinations, diagnoses and treatment.

A sick day begins at home

Your Sim may notice a sore throat, fever, headache or another uncomfortable symptom. Some illnesses are contagious, while others may appear after school, work, swimming or contact with another sick Sim.

It is not always clear what is wrong. Instead of choosing random medicine, you can arrange a sick visit and let a medical professional find the cause.

What happens during an appointment?

1. Book a visit. Choose a regular checkup or schedule an appointment for a Sim who already has symptoms.
2. Visit the clinic. You can travel with the patient or send them to the appointment alone.
3. Complete the examination. Medical staff may perform tests and guide the patient through different parts of the visit.
4. Receive a diagnosis. Once the cause is known, the Sim can get suitable medicine or care instructions.

The guided visit makes the clinic feel like an active part of the save rather than a decorative building.

Health problems have consequences

Private Practice includes colds, flu, allergies and several types of infection. Sims can also experience more serious health risks that should not be ignored. Medication reduces symptoms, but some conditions require time, rest or follow-up care.

Small details make the system especially useful for family gameplay. Parents may need to take a child to the clinic, while sick Sims can receive supportive social interactions from people around them. Medicine can be purchased through computers, pillboxes and compatible medicine cabinets.

Setting up your first clinic

You need to place at least one non-residential lot with the Private Practice Lot Trait before booking an appointment. A ready-made clinic is included, but you can also build your own health center and furnish it with the required medical objects.

The Sims 4: Get to Work is required. After downloading, extract the archive and place the mod files in your Mods folder. Make sure script mods are enabled in the game settings.

Private Practice works best in longer saves where illnesses, family responsibilities and everyday expenses are part of the story.
